The brief

The Challenge

Malaysia's future depends on leaders who can rise above division and short-termism. Across sectors, many mid-career professionals care deeply about the country's future but lack the support and space to lead with integrity in complex systems.

YTL Foundation is launching a national fellowship to:

  • Develop values-driven leaders across public, private, and social sectors
  • Equip Fellows to lead real-world initiatives aligned with national priorities
  • Build cross-sector trust, moral clarity, and personal courage
  • Seed a long-term leadership movement grounded in Malaysia's diversity

The goal is not just to build individual capacity — but to spark a broader shift in leadership culture across the country.

Our Approach

Corehort is supporting YTL Foundation to design and launch the inaugural Fellowship in 2026.

Our scope includes:

  • Designing the overall learning arc, retreats, coaching, and venture experience
  • Articulating the Fellowship's theory of change and leadership philosophy
  • Leading the design of recruitment materials, selection processes, and communications
  • Developing a culturally grounded narrative to guide launch and engagement

The Fellowship blends immersive retreats, personal leadership ventures, individual coaching, and structured peer support. It is designed to reflect Malaysia's lived realities, cultural values, and sectoral diversity — ensuring participants feel seen, challenged, and supported.

The Impact

By the end of 2025, YTL Foundation will be ready to welcome its first 25 Fellows — each one selected for their purpose, potential, and commitment to leading beyond personal ambition.

Together, they will:

  • Reflect deeply on values and leadership
  • Build a cross-sector peer community rooted in trust
  • Launch bold, values-aligned initiatives within their institutions and communities

This Fellowship is more than a program. It is the beginning of a national movement for principled leadership in Malaysia.
